Location and Times

The clinic is located in a quiet setting in Northeast Austin, a 10 minute drive from downtown, and a 20 minute drive from Georgetown.

The latest appointment time available weekdays is 6:00 pm.

Saturday appointments are available till 230pm.

A second treatment room is available for same-day emergencies, such as flu or sudden injury.

What to expect

Once you have set up your appointment, I will e-mail or mail you your intake form, and provide you with directions to my office. Please fill out your forms before your appointment.

When we meet for our session, I will take your history, look at your tongue and analyze your pulse, using the precepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine. We'll discuss your treatment objective, and the best way to achieve it.  The first session will last a little over an hour. Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothes.

If you need an herbal prescription, I will prepare that for you while you are being treated.

A word about insurance

Many people are disappointed to find out insurance doesn't  automatically cover acupuncture. However, insurance rarely covers a gym membership. a yoga class, or your choice of organic foods. If you want to achieve wellness, rather than treat acute and uncomfortable illness, it makes sense to allocate some of your budget for holistic care. ( I am open to suggestions about trades as well. )

If you think insurance does cover your acupuncture treatment, we will need to verify your benefits. Please provide me with the following:

  • Your name and date of birth.
  • Your plan group id and individual id number.
  • The name of the covered individual
  • The condition you are seeking treatment for.
  • The number of acupuncture treatments you have received this calendar year.
  • Amount paid toward your deductible this year.
